Lose-a-tonne Challenge

What is it all about?

Yep that’s it, the challenge is for you all collectively to lose a metric tonne or 1000kg of body fat.

Let’s make it 3 months to achieve, that is 333 kg each month and with 180 of you that makes an average of 1.85 kg or just over 4lbs of fat per month or 12 ¼  lbs on average each person over the three months – that is at least a dress size and a trouser size down.

OK so some won’t have that much to lose – some undoubtedly have more but on average those figures are doable and we all have a bit of fat to spare don’t we? We just need to lay off those cakes, make a few changes to what we eat and drink, do some exercise and support each other ; sorted.

So what? It will never happen

Maybe not but if enough people support it, if there are incentives and rewards and we all help each other, what is there to lose except  of course a tonne of unwanted body fat (yuck)

Hell, anyone can be negative but nothing ever happens unless someone makes a start right. Together we can do this by using the power of the team when the whole team is stronger than the sum of the individuals and as everyone works in teams, motivation is easier with a few principles:

  • Each person decides how much weight they want to lose, that is a personal goal
  • Each team records and totals that weight and submits it as the team goal
  • The team goals are totalled and perhaps with a bit of persuasion, we come up with a grand total of a tonne or close to it. That is the Company goal.

What about help?

The team at Celebrate and your HR department will provide support and motivation in terms of hints and tips, presentations, healthy eating options and of course weigh-ins every week. We will keep a running score and even have a special facebook page if that is a popular idea.

In addition there will be rewards for the individual and team who achieve the best results and perhaps even a company-wide reward!
